Rice point guard Dylan Ennis said Sunday he is putting together a list of possible destinations to transfer.
Ennis, who said last week he will not return to Rice next season, is considering transferring to Villanova, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Memphis, Cincinnati and Wake Forest, among others. He plans to narrow the list to his top choices and begin setting up visits later this week.
The list of possible destinations was first reported via Twitter by Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.
Ennis, who was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, said the reason he wants to transfer is to play closer to his family, who live outside Toronto. His younger brother, Tyler Ennis, is a highly-recruited point guard who has offers from more than a dozen Division I programs, including three (Cincinnati, Memphis and Virginia) on Dylan Ennis’ initial list of possible schools.
In his only season at Rice, Ennis averaged 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists. His 144 assists set a school freshman record.
